Corporate Controller
Erica Somes brings more than 25 years of financial management experience to her role at FormulaMed as Finance Director. Prior to joining the FormulaMed team, she gained extensive accounting experience in her 16-year tenure in public accounting as an auditor. She then began her career as a controller of a wholesale petroleum company where she found her passion for finance. In 2014, she leveraged her experiences to start a family-owned local transport logistics company. Erica subsequently joined Girish Capital and FomulaMed where she currently manages all aspects of accounting and finance for numerous holdings, investments, and clients spanning a vast array of industries. Throughout her roles, Erica’s goal is simple –finding financial strategies that promote growth and stability while controlling risk.
Erica is a life-long resident of Brazoria County and loves to call Texas home. When she isn’t working, you’ll find Erica spending time with family and managing “the zoo” on their farm. You can reach her at esomes@formulamed.com.

Dr. Setul Patel is an experienced healthcare and business executive bringing over twenty years of experience to healthcare services. Setul bridges experiences of healthcare administration, clinical emergency medicine, field EMS, and business leadership in a purpose driven and vision focused environment. He founded FormulaMed in 2013 as a healthcare consulting firm and today has focused its purpose on helping clients navigate the post COVID-19 workforce reintroduction process.
Setul has always maintained his clinical practice as cornerstone to his administrative duties, and currently practices emergency medicine on the Navajo Nation in Northern Arizona. He has also held senior management positions at Acute Medical Services and Neighbors Health where he served as President & CEO for over eight years. In 2014, Setul also founded Girish Capital to assist with capital and venture needs of young entrepreneurs and healthcare startups, leveraging his ability to successfully scale businesses.
Setul attended the University of Virginia for both undergraduate and graduate studies. After obtaining a degree in biochemistry, he started his career as an emergency room physician graduating from the University of Virginia Medical School and completing specialty training at Christiana Care Health System in Newark, Delaware, where he was also Chief Resident. In 2008, Setul obtained his MBA from the University of Tennessee graduating Phi Kappa Phi and started his administrative career. Throughout his career, Setul has brought transformational change to the organizations he has led, and believes true success comes from empowering the culture of an organization to drive best practices and innovation. In 2015, Setul was award the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for the Gulf Coast region and went on to be a national finalist. In 2016, he was a finalist for the Houston Business Journal’s CEO of the year award. Numerous other company recognitions have been awarded to the organizations he has led, including Top Workplaces and Top Culture through Entrepreneur Magazine.

Behavioral Health Director, Managing Partner
Mahtab Moradi has been in clinical practice for over 19 years. After completing her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Texas in Austin, Mahtab pursued a post graduate degree in Marriage and Family studies. Upon graduation, Mahtab began her counseling career as a fellow in behavioral medicine at The University of Texas Medical Branch. She spent the earlier part of her career teaching in the department of family medicine and serving the indigent population through community health clinics. These programs involved behavioral models and strategic training protocols to improve efficacy of health care systems, reduce consumption of pharmaceutical medications for patients with co-morbidities, and improve patience compliance.
In 2003, Mahtab joined the Devereux Behavioral Network where she spent the next 10 years working with at risk youth, autism spectrum, schizophrenia, bipolar, and court ordered juvenile population. In this role, she served as a senior clinician and took part in program development for at risk population based on individualized educational plans. In the last 3 years of her her clinical role, she took part in implementation of behavioral psychology in developing staff training modules. Upon her resignation in 2014, Mahtab served two years on the executive board for Devereux as Treasurer.
In 2015, Mahtab joined a small medical practice as a part time clinician in her role as Behavioral consultant. During this time, she also implemented behavioral protocols to improve staff trainings, address employee retention, and applied her background in psycho-education to improve patient compliance, creating a culture of trust, team building among direct care staff, and bringing systematic changes to improve productivity.
In the past four years, Mahtab has shifted focus to mental health awareness and community outreach programs Her passion in psychology has yielded her unique experiences and diverse career paths including her role as marketing director of Bay Area Health and Wellness Magazine, educational podcasts, Co-director of counseling services center, Director of Marketing for Texas World Chamber of Commerce, and current role as Advisory Board for the chamber of commerce. She is currently practicing part time as a life coach and executive consultant.

Jarred King is an entrepreneur, founder, and owner of several businesses including Swagger Agency, Swagger Film, and Marketeering Group. Jarred has extensive experience developing marketing and communication strategies for firms in the healthcare and wellness space.
Jarred is a driven leader known for clearly defining mission and goals, aligning people and resources, and developing a strategy connecting business problems with marketing initiatives. He believes in the power of customer experience and is passionate about helping other entrepreneurs growth their businesses.
In 2007, Jarred founded Swagger Media, a production company that leveraged his experience in visual communication with his passion for storytelling. As the business grew, so did its clientele and services. Eventually Swagger began offering the full-service marketing capabilities for healthcare clients to help them grow their practices and facilities.
These clients benefit from Jarred’s passion for a seamless patient journey: from awareness to treatment. Oftentimes patient’s expectations for their healthcare aren’t properly met. It’s critical for a patient, in their wellness journey, to have access to information, education materials, and seamless access to their provider of choice when making that choice for care. Through optimized marketing materials, medical teams can reduce friction in the patient journey and ensure a patient is matched with the best fit for their particular area of need. A better informed patient results in a better treatment plan by the provider, thus more optimal outcomes.
Jarred is also passionate about entrepreneurship and the startup community in Houston. He joined Entrepreneurs’ Organization – Houston in 2015 and quickly joined the board. After serving several board positions, Jarred became Chapter President in 2018. In addition to his involvement with Entrepreneurs’ Organization, Jarred serves on the board of InnovationMap and Faith In Practice. His free time is spent traveling with his wife, Kaitlyn and 2 young daughters – CeCe and Josie.
