Mahtab Moradi has been in clinical practice for over 19 years. After completing her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Texas in Austin, Mahtab pursued a post graduate degree in Marriage and Family studies. Upon graduation, Mahtab began her counseling career as a fellow in behavioral medicine at The University of Texas Medical Branch. She spent the earlier part of her career teaching in the department of family medicine and serving the indigent population through community health clinics. These programs involved behavioral models and strategic training protocols to improve efficacy of health care systems, reduce consumption of pharmaceutical medications for patients with co-morbidities, and improve patience compliance.
In 2003, Mahtab joined the Devereux Behavioral Network where she spent the next 10 years working with at risk youth, autism spectrum, schizophrenia, bipolar, and court ordered juvenile population. In this role, she served as a senior clinician and took part in program development for at risk population based on individualized educational plans. In the last 3 years of her her clinical role, she took part in implementation of behavioral psychology in developing staff training modules. Upon her resignation in 2014, Mahtab served two years on the executive board for Devereux as Treasurer.
In 2015, Mahtab joined a small medical practice as a part time clinician in her role as Behavioral consultant. During this time, she also implemented behavioral protocols to improve staff trainings, address employee retention, and applied her background in psycho-education to improve patient compliance, creating a culture of trust, team building among direct care staff, and bringing systematic changes to improve productivity.
In the past four years, Mahtab has shifted focus to mental health awareness and community outreach programs Her passion in psychology has yielded her unique experiences and diverse career paths including her role as marketing director of Bay Area Health and Wellness Magazine, educational podcasts, Co-director of counseling services center, Director of Marketing for Texas World Chamber of Commerce, and current role as Advisory Board for the chamber of commerce. She is currently practicing part time as a life coach and executive consultant.
